TRICK OR TREAT, LOBLAWS!
Join the Halloween
Corporate Hypocrite Picket
Saturday, October 31, 12 Noon

Loblaws, St. Clair West subway station
(just east of Bathurst and St.Clair)

Come as Your Are, or Come in Costume!

Join the Great Pumpkin and other characters to expose how Loblaws gets lots
of treats by performing lots of public relations (and accounting) tricks.

For example, Loblaws tricks us into thinking that it's a real
philanthropist by sponsoring food drives, yet the goods you buy at Loblaws
to donate to the food drive are bought at retail, not wholesale, making the
chain a sweet profit.

When Loblaws contributes to the problem in the first place by supporting
the Harris government (and by doing things like paying President Richard
Currie over $8 million a year), it's clear they're not interested in
seeking a real solution to hunger in Ontario. Loblaws is owned by
Billionaire Galen Weston; the recent report showing the growing chasm
between rich and poor in Canada was not met, you will note, by an apology
from people like Weston and a subsequent just distribution of the riches!

And what's worse, Loblaws has busted Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and
Robin Hood to boot, all of whom go on trial in the next three months!
Loblaws refuses to answer our letters proposing an open discussion on these
issues. Hence, we have to go to Loblaws ourselves, like any kid with a
trick-or-treat plea, and call on the corporation to start sharing its
billions.
