Taslima Nasrin, the author of the controversial book "Shame", the
defender
of women's rights and the outspoken activist against Islamic rules has
returned to Bangladesh to visit her ailing mother. Soon after her
arrival,
she was forced to go underground because the reactionary Muslim
organizations are demanding her execution and the Bangladesh government
has
issued an arrest warrant against her.
We call on all freedom loving and progressive organizations and
individuals
to join us in the Campaign to save Taslima Nasrin and demand:
- the withdrawal of the court injunction for Taslima Nasrin's arrest.
- the Bangladeshi government to guarantee the safety of Taslima Nasrin
and
her mother while they are in the country.
- The Bangladeshi government to provide a safe exit for Taslima and her
mother to leave the country.

who is dying. Soon after her arrival, she was forced into hiding

I strongly condemn Taslima Nasrin's persecution by the reactionary
Muslim
groups and protest against threatening lawsuit which has been made
against
her by the Bangladesh government.
I demand:

I would like to endorse the "Campaign to save Taslima Nasrin".
