VELOCITY NYC LAUNCHES "STREET NEWS ONLINE" World's oldest active homeless
paper is now on the Internet courtesy of New York e-zine

NEW YORK, New York -- Velocity NYC today unveiled the Street News Online
website (http://www.velocitynyc.com/StreetNews), an Internet voice of the
people. Street News Online is a free web-based version of the tabloid paper
that benefits homeless vendors.

"Street News was created to help stop panhandling and rejuvenate the American
work ethic for the homeless and at-risk in New York," said Street News Editor
in Chief Indio. "It's a tool of opportunity for people who have lost their
jobs, their homes or both - or who just want to avoid losing either."

Street News Online will feature articles published in past issues of the
newspaper, but the current issue will be available only in hard-copy. The
newspaper is available from vendors that belong to the Street News Family who
sell the paper in the subways and on the streets of New York City. Street
News is also available at six distribution points in Manhattan, as well as
four locations in Queens.

"With the new Internet version of Street News, we hope to get our message out
to a bigger audience - from the streets to the suites," said Sam Chen,
publisher of Street News. "The message is that by selling Street News
instead of begging, New York's homeless are provided a minimum trade off of
dignity and self-respect for shelter, food, clothing and love."

About Velocity NYC Velocity NYC is an e-zine featuring New York stories by
contributors from all five boroughs, and articles and reviews about New York
people, places and events. Velocity NYC also maintains a variety of indie
music resources, as well as development and promotional services.
