Dear Friend,

[BOSTON]
Bikes Not Bombs will be holding its first-ever HALLOWEEN BICYCLE SCAVENGER
HUNT (scavenging on bicycles, not for bicycles) on Saturday, October 31,
from 2:30 to 5:30 PM, starting and ending at our Bicycle Recycling and
Youth Training Center (59 Amory St. #103, Roxbury). The event is for
adults and young people 14 years old and up, competing in teams of 4 to 6
people. The registration fee is $2 per person. There will be prizes for
the teams that earn the most scavenger points (with bonus points for teams
that show up in costume, and bonus bonus points for teams that show up in
constumes with a single theme), and there will be FREE FOOD FOR EVERYONE!
Everyone has to bring their own bicycle and helmet. For those not
interested in riding / scavenging, we can use volunteers to help with
set-up (noon - 1:00 PM), registration and bicycle check (1:00 - 2:30 PM)
before the event, and clean-up (6:00 - 7:00 PM) after. Volunteers are also
encouraged to show up in costume. Proceeds benefit Bikes Not Bombs' Youth
Leadership Group. For a registration form or more info, please contact
Maria Ortiz at (617) 442-0004.

One last reminder that Bikes Not Bombs is having our next BIKE RECYCLING
VOLUNTEER DAY (CONTAINER LOADING) on Saturday, October 24, from 10 AM to 5
PM, at our Bicycle Reycling and Youth Training Center (59 Amory St. #103,
Roxbury). We will be packing around 400 bicycles, plus loads of wheels,
parts, and tools, into a truck container for shipping to the Dominican
Republic, where these will benefit bike programs for Dominican and Haitian
youth in the D.R. This is our first shipment to the Dominican Republic, so
come on down and be part of a historic occasion. Food and soft drinks will
be provided for all volunteers. DOGWOOD CAFE, DUNKIN DONUTS, AND STOP&SHOP
ARE ALL SUPPORTING THE EVENT WITH GENEROUS DONATIONS. Call us at (617) 442
0004 if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Alejandro Reuss
Outreach Coordinator
