Corruption at Toronto Police Services Board - Nov/99

- The Toronto Police Service Board is acting like a corrupt body and not
on behalf of the people of this city. Last week they voted for three
million in spending on extra community action policing even though every
group present at the meeting attacked the program as unfair and
discriminatory.

Now we hear that Julien Fantino has been put at the top of the selection
list for police chief even though he never applied for the job.
Apparently the mayor, Norm Gardiner and a few others think Fantino will
do a better job of pushing target policing that citizens groups oppose,
so we are getting him through some sort of coup.
