 TWO APPEALS FROM OCAP

 1. Homeless Couple Needs Help to Survive Winter

Two homeless OCAP members are camped out in the Don Valley. Unable to
access (or in any case endure) the shelter system, they have erected a
shelter for the winter that will give them some protection from the
weather. They urgently need the following supplies.

 Batteries (D and AA)
 Bottled water
 Wheel Barrow
Large steel pot and frying pan
 Baking powder, sugar and flour
 Salt
 Nails (all sizes)
 Canned milk and meat
 Wood for burning and building
 Pink insulation
 Snowboots (sizes 12 and 8)
 Large and medium winter parkas
 Thermal underwear and socks
 Candles
 Canadian Tire money

Please call OCAP at 925-6939 if you can help

 2. Cash Donations Needed Around Recent Ottawa Action

At OCAP's recent action on Parliament Hill, in which pepper spray was
used
for the first time in Canadian History at that revered location, a
young
man was arrested by the RCMP. He is accused of spitting on the shield
of a
riot cop. This seems a little unsporting when you consider their
readiness
to drench us in gallons of pepper spray. However, OCAP had to put up a
$500.00 cash bail to obtain his release. With other costs we incurred,
we
are probably looking at an outstanding negative balance of some
$3500.00
for the event as a whole. We badly need to cover off these expenses
and
appeal to supporters to help us meet these costs.

Please send donations to OCAP at 249 Sherbourne Street, Toronto, M5A
2R9

           Thanks
