Toronto's annual homeless memorial will be held:

Friday, May 22, 1998

from noon to 2 p.m.

at Nathan Phillips Square,
Toronto City Hall
Queen and Bay Streets

Noted Canadian author Linda McQuaig will be the speaker. There will be an
open microphone to allow homeless people to remember those who have died
over the past year.

Music will be provided by the Eagle Heart Singers and the Full Circle Band.

Free soup, sandwiches, cabbage rolls, hot and cold drinks.

While homelessness is being studied to death, the homeless are dying. There
are currently major provincial and municipal homeless task forces which are
studying the problem. Meanwhile, the city's homeless shelters are full, the
homeless population keeps rising. Federal, provincial and municipal
policies will guarantee even more homelessness in the coming months and years.

Everyone is welcome at this event: homeless people, friends and allies!

Please copy, post and pass this note along!
