				    Seattle Times
                                    June 8, 1999

                                    For migrant workers picking
                                    cherries, tents beat alternative

NEW state rules that allow growers
                                    to provide store-bought camping
                                    tents, along with basic amenities,
                                    offer a practical alternative to
                                    migrant cherry workers sleeping in
                                    their cars.

The Seattle Times goes on to make the same arguments for tent
encampments for migrant workers in Eastern Washington that SHARE/WHEEL
are making for tent encampments for homeless citizens here in Seattle.
We intend to make the most of this in our campaign for Tent City 3.
