Recent changes in welfare programs and food assistance policies have generated
considerable debate about how people in rural areas will fare under the new
system.
To further our understanding of the rural dimension of poverty and welfare
reform
and enable more informed policy judgments about the effects of reforms on rural
people and places, conference organizers seek high quality research papers on
rural or rural/urban comparative dimensions of food assistance, poverty, and
welfare.
