need LODGING for TOUR of homeless-run campaigns

During July (and possibly August), I hope to tour cities where homeless
people are active.

I envision homeless people mobilizing nationally again, as we did in the
late 1980s during the Housing Now campaigns - IF we can link homeless-run
groups from many cities. Also, if more HPNers meet face to face, this may
help to build the kind of personal trust needed to counter widespread
attacks on our civil rights, and cutbacks in the resources and
opportunities we need to survive. So:

IS THERE ANYONE ON LIST WHO COULD OFFER ME A PLACE TO STAY
FOR ONE DAY TO A WEEK IN ANY OF THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS?

*Phoenix, Arizona (ASU and ASPIN, plus an HPN meeting at AZ Rainbow Gathering)

*Seattle, WA (Tent City II, SHARE, WHEEL, Real Change, NANSA, Food Not Bombs)

*San Francisco Bay Area (Food Not Bombs, Street Spirit, Free Radio stations)

*Santa Monica & LA, CA (Making Change, Dome City USA, Santa Monica encampment)

*San Deigo, CA homeless encampment

*Eugene, OR (Homeless United for Friendship & Freedom)

*Toronto, Ontario (Ontario Coalition Against Poverty)

*Montreal, Canada (possible)

*Other places where homeless people and homeless-run groups are active

(On another trip perhaps, I'd like to visit NYC, Philadelphia, DC and
Atlanta. So if you live in any of these places or know folks there who
might briefly put up a pacifist activist on a mission, please let me know.)

Where I go to do field research, and how long I stay, will depend mainly on
a free lodging, since I will have very little money.

Although Fund for Self-Reliance (if effect) has denied our grant request
for $5,000 to $10,000 to fund HPN expenses for a year, FSR has Fellowships
of up to $1,000 for such things as field research. Whatever they might
award for this trip would go mainly to cover travel costs (about $400
plane, $400 month-long bus pass, or perhaps for gas if I can find someone
with a vehicle). This might leave some money left over for food, but
certainly not enough for hotels.

In short, If I visit your city, can you help find me places to stay?

Please reply ASAP, because I ned to put in my request for field research
funds early this week.
