HUD PUTS COMPUTER KIOSK AT STA PLAZA

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development fired up a computer
kiosk in the downtown Spokane STA Plaza on Thursday.

The kiosk, on the Plaza's second floor at 701 W. Riverside, is a
touch-screen computer with information and computer printouts on a range of
housing resources.

Among the information available: local homeless shelters, HUD-approved
mortgages, area HUD homes, agencies and programs for low-income homeowners,
and lending scams and fraud.

HUD is installing kiosks in cities across the country as a resource for
families without Internet access, HUD Secretary Andrew Cuomo said.
