The following article was published in the Monday Magazine on poverty.

the bannerhead reads:
  SHEEP CHALLENGED TO FIGHT POVERTY..

What I keep hearing from all these polititicians is how they
are going to help the homeless, the street kids and all the others that
are financially inept to society's new money order.

Every time I look around, I see that you have to have money to be accepted
in today's plastic society. Has that piece of plastic come to mean more
than your brother or sister..?

Take a look around, I challenge all you good citizens that thumb your nose
at the poor people, come down from your credit cards and survive for one
month on a welfare check. Take a month off on a leave of absence. Forget
your life and become a welfare recipient.

Could you survive..? I doubt it. Could you live in a fleabag hotel filled
with alchoholics, junkies and other misfits..?

Paying the maximum you are allowed to spend for shelter, the support isn't
enough to feed a dog properly. And if I declare my income, 25% of the
income is deducted. It doesn't matter whether it's $10, you lose 25%. But
life's a bitch.

Would any of you sheep taht sit there and talk about making a change, get
up off your behinds and actually do something to help..? No, I really dobt
that too.

That almighty dollar and the need to make money is too strong.

But when the downtrodden rise up and start to take your money, realize it
is your own fault for not helping when you should have.

I AM GOING TO SAY, "I TOLD YOU SO" (emphasis added)
