I thought some of the women active here may be interested in
contributing to this.

in the hope that the following has not been forwarded to this list yet,
and hoping that some of you might be interested in this.

	Women Activists: Call for Submission
	------------------------------------

Some women who were involved with anti-APEC activities last year in
Vanouver are putting together a zine about women's experiences with
activism, APEC related or otherwise (the emphasis is on otherwise, as
we just happen to be women who were involved in anti-APEC activities -
we are interested in anything that women activists would like to
share with us and others).

We'd like to get a collection of writings and drawings from women about
what they have done, their experiences (good and bad) and what they've
learned. This is a way for both women and men to change their perception
and treatment of women activists. Sharing our stories gives us strength. We
hope that this will also be an inspiration for women to continue their
work, share their knowledge and support and talk to each other.

The zine will be available by request by mail, on e-mail, on the web, and
distributed around Vancouver (please feel free to distribute it in your
home town). More details to come.

Please send in your submissions by the end of January. If you miss this
arbitrary date (well, we actually hope to have it ready to hand out at an
action in mid-February), and still want to send something in, please do and
we'll put it in the second edition which will appear soon after the first.
We will not edit any of your write ups, rather it will be a collection of
your stories as you present them.

E-mail to cronauer@cs.ubc.ca, or snail mail to "Let it be Known" at Student
Environment Centre, Student Union Building, 6138 Student Union Boulevard,
University of British Columbia, Vancouver, B.C. V6T 1Z1.

If you have any questions, you can reach Monica at (604)985-8617.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Write on!
