                         A Community Gathering

		       Saturday, February 7, 1998
		   Carnegie Center, Main and Hastings
			      10am to 5pm

"Creating Democracy ... Opposing Corporate Rule" is an open gathering of
collectively discuss opposition to the corporate agenda as well as the
building of alternatives to it. Through participatory and collaborative
workshops and discussions, the aim of this gathering is to both inform and
empower people in a genuinely democratic and inclusive space.  Everyone is
welcome to attend and participate. Childcare is available and food will be
served. The Carnegie Center is wheelchair accessible. 

			 Tentative workshops include:

		         * What the hell is the MAI?
	      * Police Brutality and the Latin American Community  
      * Alternative Health Options: A Critical Look at the Medical Industry
                       * An Update from Chiapas, Mexico
		  * Housing, Squatting and Guerilla Gardening
			 * Child Apprehension Issues

				  and more ...

Saturday's gathering will be followed by an open discussion and plenary at
the Carnegie Center on Sunday, February 8 from 10am to 1pm.
