This is Andrea-Zephyr letting the Rainbow Family and the Homeless =
Peoples Network know that I've now made contact with the nephew that I =
lost contact with 15 years ago. He is well & doing okay; had long phone =
talk with him last night. We are going to maintain contact & with his =
permission I'm putting other friendly family members back in touch with =
him.=20
I wish much goodwill to those who helped me: the supportive posts =
through agr; the people who brought the homeless peoples network into =
existence & who keep it going; Tom Boland who posted the original news =
story to agr (Tom, you posted it due to the somewhat callous way the =
article was written, yet the boomerang effect of that posting put me in =
direct phone contact with that reporter --- at his expense --- and he =
turned out very helpful in giving me a physical description of the man =
he had interviewed and phone numbers for shelters, etc. in Florida; so I =
feel you awakened & enlightened both me and that reporter, each in =
different ways, so there was growth all around); the reporter; the =
receptive people at the shelters; one of my relatives who supplied a =
possible lead to my ex-brother-in-law, who had changed his last name; =
the ex-brother-in-law once I located him thru the Internet; and of =
course my nephew, who took a real chance on contacting me once he had my =
phone number, as he'd been put down by some other relatives many years =
ago, and had no way of knowing whether I held bad vibes or not. It =
turns out that he wasn't the homeless man in the newspaper story, though =
they share the same name and the same city (either that or he isn't yet =
ready to tell me they are one and the same).
In this search, we resubscribed to the HPN, and due to the beams of =
truth being posted there daily, by Anitra and others, we're going to =
stay subscribed. My husband, Charles Flower Child, had been homeless =
several times during his life & had been badly treated by police during =
those times, and he had subscribed last fall when he first learned of =
HPN. But it was time-consuming going thru both agr & hpn daily, so he =
unsubscribed. This time, we'll stick with both somehow.
I have never been homeless unless you count growing up in a family in =
which both parents drank heavily & one physically abused us kids; where =
was my safe place? only in the woods, where they could not get to me; in =
the house we called home, the abusive one could always get to us, & the =
arguments went on and on. Anyhow, during my 35 adult years, most of =
which were spent singly raising my two older kids after a divorce, I =
always kept us in a rental of some sort, though usually less than a =
paycheck away from not being able to pay that rent. Worked hard for =
years at poor wages, went through a bankruptcy not from extragavent =
living but just from trying to keep my little crew healthy & warm, =
suffered through years of depression rather than shouting, this is =
enough! Finally got through that by going back into the woods whenever =
I could, healed a bit, and then opened up to people. I feel it is a =
gift to be allowed to tune into the HPN, it is making me daily more =
aware of myself and others, and helping me find new directions. =
Hopefully I'll be able to make some useful contributions to HPN, through =
future thoughts & actions.
WELL, LOVING ALL OF YOU!
