Thanks for your interest in NHI/Shelterforce. You’ve
indicated that you wanted to be kept informed of when we make changes to
the site and this message is to let you know of some new
developments.
Over the past three years, the National Housing
Institute/Shelterforce Online site -- http://www.nhi.org -- has been one of
the
best housing and community development resources online. Thousands of
people have used the site for research, education, and their work.
You’ve visited the site before, so you already know it
contains information and analysis on housing and community
development issues that you won’t find anywhere else on the Internet. In
the past few months, we’ve made it even easier to use, with new
navigation tools including a search engine, and have made it even more
useful, with more back issues, an online bookstore, and more
resources.
Here’s some of what you’ll find:
SHELTERFORCE ONLINE: Hundreds of articles on issues ranging
from rent control to Section 8 to comprehensive community
initiatives.
The site also includes Shelterforce Interviews, and
Fundraising and Organize! columns.
BOOKSTORE: The Internet’s only housing and community
development bookstore, where you can order from our
selection of books and read Shelterforce reviews.
JOBS: Listings of jobs in housing and community development.
CONFERENCES: A calendar of trainings and conferences.
POLICY ALERTS: Weekly legislative news from the Center for
Community Change.
INTERACTIVE FORUM: Online discussions with activists,
practitioners, and academics.
SIGNPOSTS: Links to hundreds of housing and community
development sites on the Internet, including our featured Site of the
Month.
