I was away on business for several weeks, so I was unable to get any
earlier e-mails. I shut my system down for several weeks. Participation
is therefore going to be sporadic for the next while <g>.

I think I may have raised that before, but nobody believed me.
Funders want and have the right to expect, accountability for funds used.
Nonprofit groups, by law, have to be audited on an annual basis and have
an elected, representative board of directors with public accountability,
that is reviewed at least on an annual basis. Funders also prefer that
such bodies be incorporated, or established as separate legal entities.
Individuals that accept such funds usually have to work this through a
nonprofit group that would hire them or "flow through" the funds to them.
This way, monies spent can be easily traced and audited to ensure that
funds are spent the way they were approved.
