 This news story was circulated earlier today on FNB...below it I have
added the necessary contact info for the Congressman in question...He is
the Big Cheese of the telecommunications commision in Congress...If we
all get together and write to him via smail or e-mail it may make a
difference in his attitude...NAB may give him pac money but its the
peoples votes that elect him...in the article he is quoted as having
concerns for minority stations and over interference both of these
issues have been addressed and will be worked out by the www.fcc.gov  He
needs to be informed that mass communication via the public airwaves

WASHINGTON - Federal regulators should halt efforts =A0to create a
low-power, low-cost radio service aimed at =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0
helping community groups, churches and others get on the air, a key
telecommunications lawmaker said =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 Thursday. ''I
request that you take no further actions on this agenda,'' Rep. Billy
Tauzin, R-La., chairman of the =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 House
Commerce telecommunications subcommittee, said in a letter to FCC
Chairman Bill Kennard. Tauzin is =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 worried
that Federal Communications Commission =A0proposals, offered last month,
would create interference =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 to existing
stations and could cut into advertising for minority and other radio
stations, a spokesman said.
