My quick tips:

Invite homeless people to design the program and make all management level
decisions (funding, staff, rules, aims, programs).

Don't just focuses on services to address perceived deficits in homeless
people, focus on our assets. Encourage our efforts, not just to help
ourselves, but to help our poor peers and contribute to our wider
communities.

Remember that homeless people are oppressed by many unfair barriers,
including the criminalization of homelessness and poverty. Witness against
that injustice, however it might jeapordize your funding stream.

As "helpers", it is not our own prospect of physical poverty we need fear -
so much as the prospect of being blinded by greed.

Best to you in your efforts! -- Tom B
