Richard Hugo House, a Seattle organization for encouraging Northwest
writers that has been very encouraging to StreetWrites, recently had an
event on the topic of Shelter. They followed up the event with a
competion on creative new approaches to shelter, titled Take Us into the
Next Millennium. One of our StreetWrites members, Storm, entered that
contest with a proposal for a designed community which she illustrated,
lacking high-priced architect supplies, with starburst candy cubes, big
red gum sticks, christmas lights on a clothes hanger, and other found
objects.

She just got a letter from Richard Hugo House telling her she was chosen
as one of the runners-up in the contest, and is invited to make a
presentation at their Contest Winners event on Saturday, January 8th, at
8PM.

We are all thrilled, and plan to be there January 8th to cheer for
Storm. If you are in the Seattle area, please join us. This event is
free admission.
