This is a site maintained by a formerly homeless mother/daughter
team: Dee and la Tiny, who together have nourished an amazing
wellspring of creative energy for San Francisco's local
homeless/poverty publications and their contributors.
They are also collaborators with the Coalition on Homelessness'
STREET SHEET, along with the American Friends Service Committee's
STREET SPIRIT and Media Alliance - a unique and effective
media/activist resource - in a project called Raising Our Voices.
Raising Our Voices is a sixteen-week free training in guerilla
journalism, desktop publishing and media advocacy for poor and
homeless people who are shut out of the mainstream media as a
consequence of their economic status.
I highly recommend that all of you who want to learn about how to
"get the word out" about the issues that affect you use these
