LABELS

Labels,labels, labels.
Why must everything have labels?
It's not so bad for cans of food,
cereal boxes, bags of fruit, and such,
but do we need these labels for people?

People are people aren't they?
Labels scare us, push us apart,
make us think we have something to fear,
when in fact we have much to learn
from those who differ from us.

Labels, labels, labels.
We can do without them, unless they're needed
to tell a can of peas from a can of motor oil.
Why not forget them when it comes to people,
and learn to enjoy the diversity among us.
