Thanks so much to Catalina Lisa and Dan for coming to the proposal rewiew
meeting. You all did an excellent job of defending the merits of funding
HPN, despite skepticism on the part of the foundation subcommittee that
questioned us.

Catalina, I was very glad to meet you face to face, and spend an afternoon
introducing you to folks working with Boston's homeless-run groups. I'd
love to visit you and your housing program soon.

I thought your post to the list protrayed precisely what happened at the
meeting. I plan to supplement what you've said, but first I need to
recover my emotional reserves.

Today, I'm emotionally exhausted and a bit depressed, probably because I'm
worried the foundation will decide not to fund HPN--which could leave me
jobless, fundless and homeless again, just as the harsh winter approaches.
But hey, who said an activist's life would be easy?

The folks at Spare Change magazine seemed really enthusiastic about you and
your ideas, Catalina. Consider writing an article for them about the
homeless-run housing program with which you work.

Linda, the editor Spare Change homeless newspaper, has had to overcome
formidable hardships to get where she is today. She is a real inspiration
to me, an example of fortitude.

Again, thanks y'all.--Tom
