SAN FRANCISCO PRESIDIO HOUSING RALLY

Dear friend,

One final reminder! The Religious Witness Presidio Housing Rally is this
Sunday, April 18 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. in Civic Center Plaza. We will hold
this Rally rain or shine! Hundreds of interfaith leaders and members,
community activists and homeless people will gather to decry Mayor Willie
Brown's refusal to implement Prop L since its passage last June, during which
time another 120 homeless people have died on our streets. We promise you a
powerful, bold drama commemorating these tragic deaths, and impassioned
speeches from interfaith religious leaders.

We invite you also to participate in civil disobedience following the rally,
which we feel is the most appropriate and effective response to Mayor Brown's
betrayal of homeless people in refusing to implement Prop L. The exact
location of the civil disobedience is being worked on; it will most likely be
in, on or near the steps of City Hall.

Many families and friends are bringing a picnic lunch and gathering between
1:00 and 2:00 (before the rally) on the grass of Civic Center Plaza. Come
join us for this time of socializing, music (guitar, flutes, men's choir,
etc.) and solidarity leading up to this powerful event!

If you have yet to do so, please respond to let us know if you will be
attending, how many friends you will bring, and if you will be participating
in the nonviolent civil disobedience (email, or call 863-3611).

See you there! Love,
Sister Bernie and Sarah
