Homeless Hero Saves Brooklyn Family From Fire
WNYC Newsroom

NEW YORK, NY February 18, 2008 -A homeless man is being credited with =
saving several members of a Brooklyn family after fire swept through =
their apartment Sunday morning.
45-year-old Andre Nash raced up the building at the Lafayette Gardens =
housing project in Fort Greene leading Terence Taylor and his two sons =
out into the hall and to safety.

He then attempted another rescue to get Taylor's wife, Geraldine; his =
stepdaughter, her boyfriend, and their baby. That's when fire fighters =
arrived, saving the young couple and their baby, but 45-year-old =
Geraldine Taylor later died at a Brooklyn hospital.

Andre Nash told the New York Post he considered himself the guardian =
angel of the building, and wasn't worried about his own life. He said, =
"I just reacted."
