Walk for the Homeless

By: Capital News 9 web staff

A local company held their annual Walk for the Homeless on Sunday with the
goal of raising $40,000 for local residents in need.
According to the Berkshire Eagle, Construct, Inc. operates a transitional
residence on Mahaiwe Street and also owns several reduced-rent apartment
buildings in Great Barrington. Every year they hold a walk to raise
awareness in the town, as well as raise funds for those who have a difficult
time affording shelter.
This year's 3.5 mile walk began at Ski Butternut on Route 23 and proceeded
to the John Dewey Academy on Main Street. Last year the organization held an
eight-mile walk that approximately 225 people participated in.
