Apartment Fire Leaves Many Homeless

A dozen families are without a home after an apartment fire happened in the
Short North.

This happened on West First St. around 12:30 Sunday morning. Investigators
said a resident heard the smoke detectors go off and called 911.

About 60-thousand dollars in damage was done. Nobody was hurt in the fire,
but 11 of the 12 apartments inside were damaged.

The Red Cross is helping residents without homes find temporary shelter.
Investigators believe the fire started in the basement, but the cause is
under investigation.
