WHAT A BOURGEOIS INSULT TO THE HOMELESS

A RECENT letter detailed how the homeless and less fortunate were preventing
the writer from enjoying middle-class life on the Ben Franklin Parkway and
lunch at the Four Seasons.

Does the writer know how pretentious that sounds? How dare he write such a
thoughtless, degrading, bourgeois letter.
A good portion of the people living in the streets are not there because
they want to be, or because of something that is directly their fault. If
the city and more people, including citizens like you, helped them, maybe
they wouldn't be so hungry and desperate to bother you for a spare quarter.

They are angry, too. Angry that they are being ignored, that they haven't
eaten, that they have no place to go when they need to wash or pee, and that
no one cares.
