SARASOTA COUNTY - Detectives have identified a homeless man found dead last
month in a field near Bee Ridge Road and Bee Ridge Extension.

Detectives identifed Christopher W. Fury, 36, by dental records. Fury moved
to Florida from Cleveland about a year ago, a Sheriff's Office report says.

It's taken weeks for detectives to identify his body because Fury did not
have any ID. He also had no arrest record, so his fingerprints were not on a
national database.

Detectives now say that Fury left his apartment in Stuart, headed for
Sarasota the weekend of March 26. He told family members he had a
construction job here.

Fury's cause of death is still unknown, but the medical examiner's office
does not suspect foul play. It is also unknown why Fury was living in the
woods.
