My apologies for the short notice concerning this item, however as you
can tell from the forwarded copy below, I just received it today
myself.

Am forwarding the below message on to you just in case it may be of
interest to you and others whom you know concerning homelessness and
partnering with community-based programs to prevent and end
homelessness at the local level. The e-mail originates from the
National Alliance to end Homelessness (NAEH):
http://www.endhomelessness.org

In summary, this particular session of their "Leadership to End
Homelessness Audio Conference Series will take place at 3 p.m. EST
this Thursday (November 18). The call will focus on emergency
assistance strategies to prevent homelessness."

While the focus of it what they appear be doing is of a more urban
nature, I am certain it has applications elsewhere, including in more
rural regions as well.

Dear Alliance Partners:

We would like to remind you that the next call in the Leadership to
End Homelessness Audio Conference Series will take place at 3 p.m. EST
this Thursday (November 18). The call will focus on emergency
assistance strategies to prevent homelessness. Dan Shepley from the
Coalition for Homelessness Intervention and Prevention in
Indianapolis, Indiana will share his city's efforts to develop and
strengthen emergency assistance programs through targeting
interventions and partnering with neighborhood-based organizations,
which also provide intensive case management services. And Heather
Lyons from the Bureau of Housing and Community Development in
Portland, Oregon will share details on a pilot program in her city
that provides a short-term financial bridge to help individuals and
families retain their housing or, if they are already experiencing
homelessness, to return to stable housing.

The one-hour call will include a brief presentation as well as a
question and answer period in which listeners will be invited to
participate. We invite you to take part in this call either by phone
(for a nominal fee) or via the web (free of charge). For more
information, see
http://www.endhomelessness.org/audio/details111804.html

We hope that you will join us!

Sincerely,

Nan Roman
