NHCEH MINUTES FOR NOVEMBER 5TH, 2004

The Coalition meeting was held at the Friendly Kitchen, 14 Montgomery
Street, Concord NH @ 9:30 in the morning.
The meeting began with the reading of the Coalition's mission statement. The
statement reads: "The NHCEH, through a united community effort of advocacy
and education, strives for understanding and elimination of the multifaceted
causes of homelessness."

After the reading of the mission statement the attendees were asked to
introduce themselves. At this time it was requested that the ED include in
the future all attendees names in the coalition minutes. The ED agreed to
the request.
The following people signed the attendance book: Keith Kuenning, Melissa
Paddock, Cynthia Wright, Karen Bednarkski, Aimee Croteau, Stephanie
Cassavaugh, Sari Friedman Frosner, Pamela Prescott, and Posy Chandler. I
apologize for any misspellings.

After introductions, Stephanie Cassavaugh from New Hampshire Help Line gave
a presentation to the Coalition. Stephanie is the New Hampshire Help Line
Program Manger. The presentation highlights included: What Help Line
Services are provided; The types of resources; Quick facts; Services not
provided; How the program is administered; Homeless Help Line facts; When to
call the line; and how to reach the Help Line. The Help Line number is
1-800-852-3388 or go on the internet at http://www.nhhelpline.org . Handouts
from Stephanie's power point presentation are available from Stephanie at

Stephanie provided a question and answer period. After that time, the ED
gave an update on recent Coalition activities which include: Attendance at
the 10th Annual New England Housing Network, 2004 NH Homeless Service
Providers Conference, and the NH Housing Finance Forum 6th Annual Housing
Conference.

The ED discussed recent grant applications the Coalition has applied for.
These include a request for funding to the New Hampshire Charitable
Foundation, The Endowment For Health, and a request to the Department of
Health and Human Services Office of Homeless and Housing Services.

The meeting was opened up for general discussion. Handouts were distributed
about Section 8 Housing Vouchers, Affordable Housing, and the Homeless
Management Information System Fact Sheet.

The next meeting of the Coalition is scheduled for December 3rd 2004, at
9:30 a.m. at The Friendly Kitchen. The featured speaker is Henry Vincent,
Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS), Systems Administrator,
Community Services Council of New Hampshire. The minutes will serve as
notification of future Coalition agendas including invited guests and
speakers. If the agenda changes the ED will notify the Coalition members by
email.
