Bomb threat goes to court
By Brian Bridgeford

A homeless Baraboo man charged with calling in a bomb threat told the judge
he doesn't trust attorneys and wants to get quickly through the legal
process.

Michael L. Stebbins, 51, appeared without a lawyer in Sauk County Circuit
Court on Monday on a felony count of creating a bomb scare. If convicted, it
carries a maximum penalty of three years, six months in prison and a $10,000
fine.

Baraboo police reported early Wednesday evening they received a report of a
bomb threat at the Sauk County West Square Building. The department
evacuated and searched the building with assistance from the Sauk County
Sheriff's Department and Sauk County Emergency Management Division.
Investigators found nothing suspicious.
