The man, who officials believe is homeless, was apparently in a planted area in the park when he caught his foot in some vines and tumbled over the edge onto the offramp, said  State Patrol Lt. Colleen McIntyre. The man told troopers he had fallen, and his account was later corroborated by a witness, she said.

The man, whose name wasn't released, was not hit by any vehicles, McIntyre said. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center, but his injuries aren't considered life-threatening, she said.

The man's fall, near the intersection of Seneca Street and Sixth Avenue, happened just after 6 p.m. and caused backups for southbound traffic.
