Good Luck on National Housing Strategy Day
In San Francisco, Our number One problem is Affordable housing or the lack of affordable housing.
At http://www.homelesshelper.net we just keep plugging away.
We offer 700 units and their cost for San Francisco County.
The Board of Supervisors want to know how over 100 Million Dollars had been spent on the homeless problem.

HOUSING FACTS
v Our well being is tied to having a home.
v Almost 5 million Canadians are in ‘core’ need of housing. These men,
women, and children live in run-down and/or over-crowded conditions, or
don’t have a home at all.
v Over a quarter of a million men, women, and children across Canada
will experience homelessness this year.
v Rents are up and vacancy rates are down.
v Homelessness and risk of homelessness is tied directly to income:
v Nova Scotians are among Canada’s poorest citizens.
v Nova Scotia core need housing is forecast to increase.
v There is no national housing strategy for affordable housing.
v Homelessness is forecast to increase.
v In the past 10 years the federal government has not played a
meaningful role in meeting Canadians’ right to housing.
v On November 22 communities across Canada will be asking that the
federal government address the right to safe and affordable housing.

Join your community on November 22, 2001 for the National Housing
