You notice how this article successfully avoids any mention of the other
cuts (to housing, income assistance, voluntary, non-medical social
supports, etc.) that are proving to be the major contributers to madness.
No - instead it sticks to the officially-sanctioned line that emotional
crises are the result of a 'biological brain disorder' with a mystifying
(and fundamentally meaningless) label such as 'schizophrenia',
'schizoaffective', 'bipolar', etc.

None of these 'diagnoses' have ever been scientifically validated.
Nonetheless, these officially-sanctioned bogus labels (and not the
'illnesses' they purport to describe) have probably destroyed more lives
than bubonic plague. They represent a classic scenario of a repressive,
uncaring system covering its ass through victim-blaming.

The only mystery is why, in a system as emotionally and spiritually
bankrupt as this one, even more people aren't going mad. Or maybe some are
just more successful at hiding it than others.

'Mental cruelty', indeed.
