Hi guys,

Here is an update on John's and Sean Lee's arrests. They're admitting that
they don't have any evidence on
John and yet they refuse to release him! Can you believe that? They truly
are political prisoners.

>On Friday June 29th, the three remaining OCAP members appeared in an Oshawa
>Court for bail hearings. Sean Lee Popham of OCAP had been denied bail
>roughly a week earlier.
>
>After the completion of arguments, Justice Robert Harris ordered John
>Clarke be detained in custody until trial. AJ Withers was released into
>house arrest, and Omid Zareian was released with "reasonable" conditions -
>both requiring $15,000 sureties.

>During the proceedings, investigators from Durham regional police stated
>that John was arrested without a warrant and further admitted that they had
>no evidence against him, until a 'suprise' witness came forward 17 days
>after the incident - coincidentally on the eve of the last day of the bail
>hearing.

>Investigators testified that they had "arrested everybody with the intent
>of sorting out the evidence later."
>
>Crown Attorney Cindy Johnston told the court that the circumstances
>surrounding the arrest of John Clarke and others may be "illegal". However,
>this was an issue to be sorted out later by the trial judge.

>These events follow an action that occurred in Whitby on June 12th. OCAP
