HONOLULU (AP) _ State and city officials have evicted a group of
homeless people from Mokuleia Beach Park on Oahu's North Shore.

The dozen squatters claim to be citizens of the Hawaiian Kingdom
and thus immune from state and city laws.

But 12 police officers accompanied by city and state officials
evicted the group Wednesday after telling them in December to move
out of the area.

The Humane Society also participated because there were several
dogs on the premises.

Three women and three men were arrested for obstructing
government operations. A fourth man was arrested on outstanding
warrants, police said.

Bulldozers removed cars and tents, along with plants and trees
the families had planted throughout the years.
