National Neighborhood Coalition (NNC) July 14 (this Friday) Open Forum:

Revitalizing the Labor-Community Connection - billions of dollars of
pension capital are being accessed to create housing and jobs through
the AFL-CIO's Housing Investment Trust

Date: This Coming Friday, July 14, 12 noon to 2 p.m. [Bring Brown Bag Lunch]

Location: Jesuit Social Ministries, 1616 P Street, NW, 7th Floor Washington, DC

Organized labor and community development groups have historically been
allies in promoting a strong agenda for working families and healthy
communities. NNC's July forum will provide an overview of the labor
movement today, and a look at the AFL-CIO and its current programs and
agenda.

There will be a special focus on how billions of dollars of
pension capital are being accessed to create housing and jobs through
the AFL-CIO's Housing Investment Trust.

* Ken Grossinger, Department of Legislation, AFL-CIO (Member of the NNC
Board of Directors

* Marcie Cohen, Director of Development, AFL-CIO Housing Investment
Trust

The Forum will also feature brief updates on the White House Livable
Communities Initiative, and the Violence Against Women Act.
