GIULLIANI CAUGHT "SLUMMING IT" WITH HOMELESS WOMAN

New York City, NY -- At 2:00 AM this morning, Mayor Rudolph Giuliani was
arrested for vagrancy and public indecency after having been caught making
love to a sixty-eight year old homeless woman, Gladys Johnson, under a
mountain of newspapers and old blankets on the floor of Ms. Johnson's
home. Ms. Johnson lives in a makeshift cardboard shelter behind the iron
green dumpster on the corner of Bowery and Houston, a few blocks away from
the base of the Manhattan Bridge.
Mr. Giuliani was promptly released and has convinced District Attorney
Robert Morgenthau not to press charges against Ms. Johnson for indecency.
Nonetheless Ms. Johnson will be incarcerated on Rikers' Island for several
months pursuant to the Mayor's recent rules outlawing homelessness.
"I was slumming it," Mr. Giuliani announced to the mob of reporters and
photographers crowding the exit door to the police station. "Even a man
like me who can get high-quality tang occasionally likes slumming it."
"Besides," said the Mayor. "She's not really 'all there' so I don't think
she even knew what was happening at the time."

President Clinton began the political trend of "slumming it" with women
such as Ms. Jones and Ms. Lewinsky.

It is theorized that the Mayor, in preparation for his likely Senatorial
run, is trying to adopt to adopt the political style of President Clinton.
Clinton is largely accredited for having popularized "slumming it" as a
political pasttime with his reputed affairs with Jennifer Flowers, Monica
Lewinsky and trouser-dropping episode with Paula Jones. Nonetheless, a
sexual liason in the dead of winter with a sixty-eight year old homeless
woman with a severe mental disorder sets an entirely new standard.
Speculation is running rampant about Gladys Johnson, the woman who so
captured the Mayor's attentions. Although Ms. Johnson generally responded
to most reporters' questions with a blank stare, she did manage to describe
her first encounter with Giuliani.
"He come out of a bar nearby two months back and starts takin' a leak by my
house," Ms. Johnson said, referring to the dumpster. "I don't think he
know I lived there. But he goes on and on, pissin'. So I said, 'Watch
where you point that thing, cracker.'"
Mayor Giuliani has conceded that Ms. Johnson's comment "made him excited"
and that was when the affair began.
The Mayor has already been sharply criticized by feminists and liberals for
the affair, who argue that "slumming it" preys on disadvantaged women and
that the Mayor had never intended to pursue a serious relationship with Ms.
Johnson. The Mayor has sharply disagreed.
"Anyone who doesn't understand the joy of 'slumming it' is probably a fag,"
said the Mayor during the Friday press conference, in response to a
question by reporter Barry Lefkowitz. "Besides. Even the homeless need
loving. That's what good government is all about."
