Supreme Court Rules for Bush on Florida Recounts -

A sharply and bitterly divided U.S. Supreme Court ruled Tuesday for
Republican George W. Bush, halting any more recounts of ballots in Florida
and dealing a crushing setback to Democrat's Al Gore's hopes of winning the
presidency. In a historic late-night ruling that could give Bush the White
House, the nation's highest court reversed a Florida Supreme Court ruling
ordering the recounts, holding that the decision violates the U.S.
Constitution's protections of equal protection under the law.
